Mille Miglia returns to Lugano

Lugano, May 5-7, 2023 –The iconic 1000 Miglia will return to Ticino in May 2023 for a spectacular three-day event, once again under the expert management of Scuderia Classiche GmbH. This will mark the second edition following the successful inaugural event in 2022.

The 1000 Miglia has a history dating back to 1927, held annually in Italy and has become the most coveted event in the world of vintage cars. The classic route starts and returns to Brescia, with a stopover in Rome. Over the course of 1600 km, more than 400 cars are greeted by long lines of enthusiastic spectators.

The Swiss 1000 Miglia Warm Up, which will again start from Lugano this year, will allow a maximum of 25 vintage cars built before 1976 to participate. Competitors vie for coveted prizes and thrilling experiences.

On Friday, May 5, teams will settle into their hotel accommodations and undergo administrative and technical inspections. The afternoon will feature lessons on the theme of regularity time trials and all the secrets of this sport. The day will conclude with a Ticinese aperitif and dinner.

Saturday, May 6, will see the public spectacles begin in Piazza Rezzonico in Lugano, with timed trials along the lakeside and various attractions. After lunch, the grand start will take place, and competitors will embark on a journey through the magnificent valleys of Ticino, ending with a warm moment of conviviality at the table, savoring the best that our region has to offer.

On Sunday, May 7, the gathering will resume exploring the characteristic landscapes of the Canton of Ticino and will conclude with the closing lunch and the awarding of various prizes.
